Egypt Revealed Tour

The joys of planning a trip.

I saw this tour about 18 months ago (January 2016) while facing being made redundant, where I worked. I needed something to look forward to as a reward for the hard times to come.  My partner was not interested in going so I decided to go alone.  However, I was not made redundant and managed to stay with the company.  Oh well no trip to Egypt YET!!! Keep on dreaming....
I now have the opportunity to go and Nathan still does not want to go, he is not happy about me going as he does not want me to travel there alone (understandably) but I don't believe Egypt will ever be a safe destination, I think that can be said about many countries now.  Smart Traveler recommends "Reconsider your need to travel" I need to travel there because I want to, if that makes sense (I still do not have a grasp of the difference between need and want).   So I now can plan for 3 (me, myself & I).  
I have had a few emails back and forth with Ask-Aladdin with additions to the tour that I would like and them advising of the additional costs.  
​I have decided what I want to do.  Just need to have my leave approved and it is full steam ahead.
I have selected the Egypt Revealed Tour 5 Star Deluxe with the tour company Ask Aladdin -  14 days/13 Nights, with a couple of detours added in, including 1 Full day visits to Dendera and Abydos, and a flying visit to Abu Simbel.

My leave has been approved and I received my itinerary last night, dates have been confirmed, just one addition required, the sound and lights at the Pyramids of Giza, time to book my flights.

3 months 4 days to go!!!!  (but who is counting)
Received confirmation of accommodation last night, my first 2 nights are in a hotel that I saw online and had my fingers crossed it would be that one, the Ask-Aladdin website quotes " this palatial hotel is located in the shadows of the Great Pyramids of Giza in Cairo".  Time to update the website with the accommodation details.... ​Have received all my travel documents,  I will be picked up from the airport by Mr. Ramadan and will be flying within Egypt via Egypt Air.

18 days to go!!! Have booked all my additional tours for Hurghada via "Get your Guide" Nice painless process if you exclude the decision making on what to do, so many choices..... Quad biking, Semi-Submarine tour and a personal guide to Hurghada.

2 sleeps to go and not a single thing packed, maybe I should do something about that.  Nah it can wait until tomorrow.  Nathan is dropping me off and because I have Qantas Club I will have a comfortable wait with free food and booze prior to boarding, 6pm is not too early for a 10:20 departure is it?
