After breakfast the second part of your tour of Alexandria starts with a visit to the Citadel of Qaitbay, where, about 1480AD, the Mameluke Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay fortified the site, which held the ruins of the Alexandria Lighthouse, and with successive improvements it now stands as a very prominent Citadel on the Mediterranean coastline, which is followed by a visit to the Greco/Roman museum where 21 rooms contain about 40,000 valuable relics dating from as early as the 3rd century BCE. You will then have lunch at a seafood restaurant overlooking the eastern port before being transferred back to Cairo in our air-conditioned vehicle, where you will check-in upon arrival.
