This morning I was packed and ready to go early and spent the morning with a very leisurely breakfast. I was met in the reception by Mr Ramadan and climbed into the bus for my trip to the airport and said goodbye to him, the driver I have had for my time in Cairo and Alexandria was the only company I had on the way, it was the weekend for Egypt so the streets were relatively quite in comparison to the mad crush of traffic I have previously experience. At the airport I was met by another rep who took me through the process of exiting Egypt from check in to ensuring all the forms were completed correctly, wow yet again having someone do this for me was fantastic, it made me think of the times I have gone anywhere with Nathan and all he did was go to the airport and help with the bags but here I did not handle my bags at all, they only stayed in my sight. The flight to Dubai was uneventful with a difference to the flight to Cairo, no bus trip to any planes this time.
I had a 9 hour stop over in Dubai, I planned to spend my time here in the Emirates lounge, just to chill, eat and try to get some sleep, which I managed to do in the quiet section of the lounge, a type of bed is provided behind screens with an eye mask, socks and a blanket all packaged up ready for use. The flight from Dubai to Perth wasn't too bad the seat next to me was vacant and there was a nice lady on the isle seat, we had a bit of a chat for the last 2 hours of the flight. |
