This morning we continue south to the Eastern Cape entering the fourth of the provinces s and the birth place of Nelson Mandela (fondly known as Madiba). En route we see the old traditional way of life in the homeland area known as the Transkei and stop for lunch outside the capital of Umtata. We continue via Nelson Mandela’s birth place and house, arriving in the late afternoon at our accommodation in Chinsta East, on the beautiful, unspoilt Eastern Cape Coast

This morning's start was leisurely in comparison to other days, we had many kilometres to travel, approximately 520. This was a day spent mostly on the bus with a stop for a morning break, a lunch break and an arvo break, plus a stop where Nelson Mandela was born, lived and is buried. The end of the trip at Crawford's Beach Lodge was well worth the drive. The Indian ocean was as cold on this side of it as it is on the west coast of Australia, we walked along the beach and took a few photos, we settled in for dinner with me still having withdrawal symptoms from no real internet, so I ended up sitting in the bar by myself just to get everything for the last few days uploaded, might take a few scotches but will be worth it. The staff seemed to be waiting for me to leave the bar, so I headed back to my room and discovered that I have internet access in my room, if somewhat limited. I got to bed around 11:30.
