Last night setting up the hot water Nathan dicovered that a fitting was broken
Up early after a night where I woke at some stage to the sound of rain, Nathan however woke to the sound of rain and trucks passing through the night, we did not go far enough away from the road, when the rain hit he got up and adjusted our awning, we did not allow for rain and there was some puddling that needed to get sorted out.

Broken thingsWhat is a road trip without couple (or more) issues,
so what has been discovered so far Last night we discovered our hot water system had a broken valve, on to google to find where we could find hardware of sorts out here, (Starlink to the rescue). We had our first Jeep issue before I even started her, The drivers seat would not lock upright, just the seat mechanism not locking in, nothing broken, I was thinking all sorts of scenarios to keep on our trip if this could not be fixed, Nathan worked his magic and all sorted in about 5 mins. |

We drove straight through Menzies stopping at Leonora fuelling up and stopping at the supermarket, they carry a small range of parts, thankfully what we needed.
Next stop was a small fuel top-up at Laverton, I grabbed a sneaky crumbed chicken and cheese sausage while Nathan popped the mozzarella sticks in the oven.

We discovered the first time we tried to get to the oven and fridge that we needed to park the Jeep on an angle, which means all photo's of her when we stop if we are on an angle we are getting food or drinks.

About 80 k's from Laverton the dirt road started, we decided to air down after lunch was ready.
20 min's later we aired down, lunch was not hot enough so we got on the move and had lunch a bit further on.

As we drove along my mind went to what we had planned and researched for the trip and I had a thought that not all fuel stops had normal (for us) open hours, I had a horrible thought that the next fuel stop was shut on Sunday. Time for Nathan to drive so I can find out if we needed to push on to reach there so we can fuel up, we probably would make it to Warburton using the fuel in our Jerry can, however not worth the risk out here. I did find the roadhouse and saw it shut at 3 pm today and open tomorrow at 9 am, it was after 3 so we missed it and started looking for a camp site.
We found 2 bush camps down one track and decided to go for the furthest one to really get away from the road.
The track had some washouts the camp site was much better than last night's even had a view and a slight hill behind us.

Friends update
They got on the way early this morning, they are still on the bitumen section after Laverton, not too far away, we should see them tomorrow.
