Mainoru to Daliwuy Bay

An early rise today, however all but one camper left in the campgrounds when we left at 8:30.

Today I drove and with the amount of time on the road there is not many pics to share.

What can I say about today except it was a very long day, 10 hours to get to our destination Daliwuy bay.

The road was interesting to say the least, we knew there was a water crossing, Nathan said it's your Jeep you can take it through, this was before we saw what the water level was like.  

Between Mainoru and Bulman was corrugation followed by a very rocky section of road,

We came across numerous animals on the road, the buffalo with a bird on it's back was probably the best, we also had a couple of donkey's on the road.

We passed the family we had met at Mainoru, they had stopped to check out their caravan, they took 11 hours on this fantastic highway

After Bulman we did get a long section (appox 2 km) of bitumen road, this gave us false hope and Nathan googling to see what other sections were bituminised.  We did not see any more until we got to Nhulunbuy ​

The sign location showed if the road warning was on the left, middle or right, or like this one, middle and on the left.

We saw this sign so often, I want to find a magnet with this one it.

This is my first long water crossing, the bottom was solid, most of the floodway's has cement bases, it is just the entry and exit that were mud.  

If you look closely enough you will see I scared off a lizard sunning it's self.

When we got to Daliwuy Bay, we found the campgrounds, some locals were in one and they told us the other spot was ours, we were too tired to deal with it so we set up quickly, cooked dinner and went to sleep to deal with the camping location in the morning.
