Kings Canyon to Ellery Creek

We packed up and and got on our way to Kings Canyon to do the rim walk.

Kings Canyon Rim walk is 3 to 4 hours to complete, after discussions the  decision to do the smaller walk due to time restrictions to get to our next camp site.

The walk was nice and way too short, back to the start and decision made was to do a bit of the rim walk just to get a better view of Kings Canyon.

On to fuel up and get our tour pass for the Mereenie Loop, open to 4WD only (apparently) , back onto gravel and corrugations, We reached McGinty's jump up, stopped for a look, and back on the move. 

It took us about 2.5 hours, we passed 2 vehicles that were 2wd, (idiots), there was a guy in a traveller van hanging on to the steering wheel for dear life.  We got to a T section with some bitumen and 2 other vehicles that had aired up, thinking that was the end of the gravel road we aired up, the Jeep and camper were aired and on to helping air up our friends camper to speed things along, when on the second tyre our next broken thing happened. 
Nathan had a quick look fuse was good, the conclusion was the compressor had over heated, we had been giving it a hard time.

We got around the corner and discovered the gravel road was not done with us yet, 25 k's of gravel to go.

We stopped at Redbank Gorge for a bit of a walk, sign post said 1 hour, it was an easy walk not like Karijini, you are already on the gorge floor when you enter.

One detour to Ormiston Gorge, we didn't stop, the kiosk was closed, then on to our camp for the night.  The layout was a bit strange and when I booked you could not tell the size or shape, our shape was very whacky, so whacky we didn't put the awning up.

Broken things

One issue today, My air compressor stopped while on its 8th tyre, Nathan checked a fuse, not blown, thought process was that it overheated.  I lifted the bonnet at camp and checked the 2 50amp fuses, one had blown.
