The first morning kicked off with us relocating from Camp 1 to Camp 2.

After all the travelling and only overnight stops, the plan for day one, was cleaning up sorting out and hanging around camp relaxing. This did not go to plan, another couple of broken things, seems to be something of a daily occurrence. Our water pump was not playing the game and the hot water system was not heating up. The hot water was an easy fix, batteries needed replacing, although we don’t have any “D” cell batteries, the water pump issues had Nathan climbing into the storage space under the bed, so everything had to be pulled out. End result, we had to go to Nhulunbuy for a new pump and batteries. Starlink to the rescue, a local hardware store was listed as a stockist for the pump we needed.

Our friends stayed and relaxed at camp and we headed into town with a bag full of clothes to be washed, hoping to find somewhere to do this while we were in town, Nhulunbuy is approx. 51 km’s and the Jeep had 61km to empty, I was a tad concerned about the fuel and wanted to fuel up before anything else, however due to not towing we had enough to run around a bit, which we did, the hardware store didn’t have what we were after so we were directed to the industrial area, no pump to be found. We fuelled up 93lt, the Jeep’s tank holds 55 and the reserve holds 40, we were running around on the whiff of an oily rag.
We discovered there was nowhere to wash clothes in town but the caravan park at Gove was a possibility, so we went sightseeing at Gove. The caravan park was not open till 12 we were there 30 min to early, we drove around a bit, looking at heading into Little Crocodile Bay only to discover it was closed, an elder of the local community had recently died so some of the areas were closed. Back to camp we went, hand washing coming up back at camp.

The next 2 days was sightseeing and topping up, fuel, food and water.

Wednesday night we went to Gove boat cub for dinner, OMG the size of dinner was huge.

On our last day Nathan I went to Giddy Creek where Nathan got to have some fishing time.

Broken things
Water pump's built-in micro switch and the hot water was not igniting.
