Devils Marbles to Katherine

Today started so different to the other days.

4 am I am wide awake, complaining about us stinking, boy did I carry on, on good advise from Nathan I got out the baby wipes, didn't fee that much better at the time, though I got dressed and ready for the day, in my mind I was determined to wear shorts. All dressed and smelling semi better, about half an hour later I climbed back into bed.

We had an amazing sunrise facing East and West, this morning, the Devil’s Marbles glowed as we made coffee and packed up.

Back to the familiar phrase “on the road again”,

Nathan and I had received notification that the Air Bag had arrived at Katherine and ready for pick up and my package was still in Katherine for pickup, so the 45 mins for Nathan and the over an hour on our phones yesterday were for s*$t. We discussed calling the post office to see what could be done, but in reality if we were able to divert them they would not get to Nhulunbuy in time for us to pick up from there, so what can we do, high tail it to Katherine is our best option.

Our little convoy of 2 vehicles were to part again, we rushed on ahead doing probably (not) doing the speed limit, to get to Katherine before the post offices closing time of 5pm. our friends went to Mataranka.

Starlink to the rescue again, I contacted a caravan park near Katherine Hot springs and got us a powered site.

We got in to Katherine about 3:30, the post office was easy to find, we had to park in a large vacant area, not wanting to leave the Jeep, Nathan got the Air Bag first then I went to get my package, both packages were there. Off we went to our next overnight stop, Riverview Tourist Village, as I was checking in another couple came in and were advised the caravan park was fully booked, so glad to have booked ahead, the campsite was nice, the hot springs were walking distance from the caravan park and they had a security gate at the back that led us to Katherine Hot Springs.

We set-up camp and opened our packages.

The air bag is an ongoing story, however my package is parts that go back a week before were left.

I have an onboard air system, I had an issue with a connector and contacted the guys from Epic adventure outfitters, just to find out what the parts were so I could find replacement parts here in Perth, these guys are located in Canada. Their first response was amazing, they shipped a package to me straight away and 5 days later it was on my door, the package arrived 5 hours after we left Perth. My mum forwarded it on to me to Katherine to pick up.
The package contained every connector I might need to replace down to the air pressure release valve and a new sticker, timed well, their last sticker is attached to the broken glass from my back window.

A little note on the air system, if I did not have this our trip would be totally different, the pressure sensor kept pumping up the airbag as we travelled.

Off to the hot springs and then an early night.
